Management

KALLAR KALVI KAZHAGAM (138/67) is a registered society under Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act 1860 as amended by Madras Act 1954 and again amended by Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act 1975.

The aims and objectives of the Society are :

To start and manage educational institutions at all levels including arts and science college at Usilampatti and other places in Tamil nadu
To impart education at all levels in arts, science, commerce etc generally to students of Denotified Tribes, Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Tribes
To foster sportsman spirit, sense of discipline and aptitude for social service in the minds of students through extra – curricular activities
To institute and award scholarships, medals and prizes to deserving students and encourage them to set up high standards of attainments in various activities
To raise funds by way of subscriptions, donations and endowments etc.
To acquire any rights or privileges or properties necessary or convenient for the purpose of the society.

College

PASUMPON MUTHURAMALINGA THEVAR COLLEGE, Usilampatti is a Co-Educational Institution, affiliated to the Madurai Kamaraj University. The College is situated on the Madurai-Theni National Highway at a distance of 3 kms from Usilampatti town. It covers an area of 54.65 acres.

The College was inaugurated on 5.7.1968 by Dr. T. P. Meenakshi Sundaranar, the then Vice-Chancellor of Madurai University (presently, Madurai Kamaraj University). The College was founded with Pre University Courses (PUC) and Undergraduate Courses. The Society runs this College with an approved educational agency under Tamil Nadu Private Colleges Regulation Act 1976.

The long-time dream of the people of this area, to have a College, comes true by the priceless efforts of the two legends Thiru P. K. Mookkiah thevar B. A., Ex. M. P and M.L.A., and Thiru. V. K. C. Natarajan, I.A.S. The contribution made by the farmers, the teachers of Kallar and Panchayat Union Schools, the common funds of the Piramalai Kallar Community and the Well-wishers of the community provided assistance to start this institution.

Management

The Society elects its Executive Committee Members once in every three years and such elected Committee Members are also adopted as College Committee Members.
